After school one winter day, Mom reminded Jack to build a snowman in the yard before his father came home from work. Delighted, the boy eagerly put on his coat and hat and set off.
Outside, in his front yard, Jack started with a very small ball of snow. It was a big job for a 9-year-old boy like him. At their neighbor’s window, his new neighbors, Cindy aged 7 and her mom, were watching him play.
Curious and excited, the girl pressed her face against the window, watching Jack’s snowball growing. Her mother seemed to have read her mind and encouraged her to join the boy.
The boy and the girl began their teamwork soon. While Jack picked up a big snowball and made it the snowman’s body, Cindy was collecting snow to make the snowman’s head. Then they tried hard to put one snowball onto another. It roughly looked like a snowman! Tired but amazed, the two got on their knees and appreciated their great work.
They patted the snowman and talked about what to do next. It was time to make the snowman more lifelike and beautiful. After a discussion, they rose to their feet and entered their each house.
