阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Two years ago, 20-year-old Rutledge was driving on her way to work when she saw the blue lights flashing behind her. From the rear mirror of her car, she noticed a police officer coming up to her. As she pulled over to the side of the road, her heart beat up in her ears with anxiety, because she knew she had done the wrong thing at the wrong place and time.
Brown, a police officer, approached and intended to give her a speeding ticket. Rutledge acknowledged her mistake and expressed that she was very sorry. And then, she told Brown that she was broke, and didn’t have the money to pay a speeding ticket.
Most people have a story about talking their way out of a ticket, and Brown has probably heard it all before. But what was his response? He didn’t charge her for the speeding ticket. Instead, he asked Rutledge to have a talk with him about her situation. What Rutledge didn’t know was that it would be one of the best things that ever happened to her.
Their talk went on for about 10 to 15 minutes, just sitting in the car. Rutledge told Brown that she was stuck in a dead-end job and didn’t know what to do. Then, they talked about different career choices. To his credit, Brown provided guidance and motivation to Rutledge. He helped Rutledge figure out where she was going in the future. After the talk, their conclusion was that Rutledge would make a great nurse. If one can believe it, Brown even convinced her that she should apply for a nursing school.
At last, Brown let her off with just a warning. “Promise me you’ll go to a nursing school. Slow down and I won’t give you a ticket,” he said.

The journey was challenging, but the thought of a better future kept her motivated.
Two years later, Rutledge invited Brown to her graduation ceremony. She wanted to thank him for the pivotal role he played in her life. As she walked across the stage to receive her diploma, she spotted Brown in the audience, clapping proudly. After the ceremony, Rutledge approached him with a heartfelt thank you. Brown smiled, saying, “I knew you could do it.” Rutledge realized that sometimes, a simple act of kindness and guidance could change a person’s life forever.
